An American Birthday with Heart

America is two hundred and thirty three years old today. Our democracy has thrived longer than any government in history aside from certain generational monarchy's, yet we remain one of the youngest country's in the world. Most types of governments hardly last a generation with few exceptions. Our incredible success speaks volumes to the wisdom and heart of the founding fathers along with the courageous men, women and children that stood by their side.

As we celebrate our nations birthday, the empire on the Potomac is actively undermining American freedoms today by attempting to expand it's tentacles into every aspect of our lives. This represents a 180 degree change from the model framed in our constitution. Our government is drowning in debt while it continues to spend more of the peoples money rather than instill business structure and implement strategies. Taxes, inflation, bankruptcy, foreclosures and unemployment are all rising while the value of the dollar is plummeting. Many countries are now pressing to remove the dollar as the world's economic standard of currency.

This administartion invaded the banking and auto industry. Now they are attempting to hijack the health care and energy businesses. Congress is attacking our economy with cap & trade all in the name of Al Gore's global warming fantasy! We cannot accurately forecast next week's weather but we know what the earth will look like in 100 years? Come on Al, I know you invented the internet but are we really supposed to trust the government to step in and save the world from itself?

Make no mistake, the executive branch and congress are arrogantly stating they know better than the United States citizens. The irony is the politicians are supposed to be working for the people but yet the philosophy employed in Washington today operates under the reverse assumption; The people will work for the government if we tell them.

We are only 165 days into this administration yet we are witnessing the rumbling that began on tax day now turn to a slow roar. There is a movement swelling amongst the people that common sense will prevail, not the pomposity of politicians. There were over 2,000 tea party rallies this week-end, an increase of almost 300% since the 700 plus on April 15th. The numbers dwarf the Vietnam protests but unfortunately the state run media refuse to cover this phenomena. Sadly the press finds the death of Michael Jackson more compelling than the social unrest of a nation.

Rather than allowing dejection to enter in, the people are digging in harder. They have already scheduled a new round of tea parties for September 12th. I suspect the fans of socialism and facism have underestimated the resolve of the United States. Perhaps they might want to look back at September 12th, 2001 because the love of country that beat in so many tickers that day may be on the verge of resuscitation. From the early colonial days until today, it has always been about our heart. Happy birthday America.
